Red Pers

Red Pers

Red Pers, a Dutch online platform for journalistic development set up by students from AUC, is always looking for new writers, editors, photographers, web-developers, graphic designers, podcast- and video-makers, and PR-managers.

The only requirement is a basic proficiency in Dutch (only to understand and communicate, not necessarily to write or edit articles). Some experience in journalism and/or the desired position is a pre, but not a must.

Please take a look at and e-mail us at! Applications should always include a CV and a motivation letter, applicants who want to become writers/editors should include a journalistic article of max. 500 words (in the desired language of writing, either Dutch or English), and photographers have to include some pictures they have made (preferably journalistic, involving students and/or made in Amsterdam).

In case you want to apply for an internship (which will be accepted by AUC): these are always ongoing at Red Pers, so students can directly apply and get accepted at all times. Furthermore, standard AUC internship requirements apply (a minimum of 168 hours).

Volunteer @ Maya

Volunteer @ Maya

Maya Universe Academy is a social entrepreneurship project providing access to quality education in rural Nepal. It is the first chain of free private schools where parents of students enrolled, can pay with time instead of money. The time is spent on the school’s own agriculture farms, animal farms and handicraft production.

The volunteer-based schools aim to become self-sustainable through its own activities such as agriculture, animal products and handicrafts.

Maya Universe Academy was established in 2011 from a small tent in the hills of Tanahun District with 15 students, now employing over 40 local staff and educating over 450 students in three locations.

How can you help?

Volunteer: Volunteering at Maya Universe Academy is a truly exceptional experience! You get to experience genuine rural life and culture in Nepal, interact with students and their families and be part of an innovative education solution. Helping out Maya can take on all kinds of roles in education, construction, agriculture and management. We like to choose roles for volunteers by matching their interests, experiences, and desires with the school’s needs and resources at the time of volunteering.

If you’re interested in helping out at one of our schools and becoming a part of the Maya community, you can sign up through our website:
